Hi, I am Aneta, I am polish, I studied political sciences, I work in the field of international cooperation for peace and I am a storyteller.
I tell stories and tales from different cultures and languages. I use various symbols to touch different topics. But no matter where we come from, we all reach the same conclusion in the end. We realize that we are all humans and we are here for the same reason: to be happy, to love, to cultivate the land, to live well, to have fun and to dream.

How I became a storyteller
When my daughter was very young she asked me not to read her stories but to tell them to her instead. I was scared at the beginning, but I found it very easy to invent stories for her. Then I learnt that this was a great tool for integration between children, youths and adults. And this is how I became a storyteller.
Now I tell stories in libraries, museums, schools, kindergartens and theatres . To big audiences, in small events, for children, grownups and elders.

The power of storytelling
Storytelling empowers people so that through their own imagination and critical capacity they can create solutions for the world we live in today.
THE POWER OF STORYTELLING
DIRECT CONTACT:
When you tell stories you have direct contact with the person who is listening, and although one is speaking, the two are creating the story.
BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS:
Between a father and his son, between a teacher and a pupil, between a grandfather and his grandson, between a Catholic and a Buddhist...
INSPIRING QUESTIONS:
By telling stories you inspire other stories. And more if it's a good story from a traditional culture: there you can add any message you want to get without doing it directly, inspiring questions, which is much more important than giving answers.
THINKING FOR YOURSELF
Good storytelling encourages you to question everything that is simply told to you, to start thinking independently and open your imagination. And when that happens you stop fearing the refugees, gay people or your neighbours.

From spectator-actor to spectator-activist
Aneta and the Emotive team worked together on setting the goals of the project for this new phase and filled an application to the European Union to get initial funding.
We choose Mexico because there is a rich living oral tradition. The role of shaman storyteller that cures with stories still exists insome Mexican communities, they do a lot of sex education for gender equality, and tell stories to preserve the languages that are about to die.

Mexican stories in Poland
Exchanges in Poland took place in October, November and December 2014 in Poznan and Turek. Each consisted of an intense week of workshops and shows.
Daniel focuses on storytelling tradition combined with clown techniques, music and play, creating a powerful combination of serious issues with playful techniques.
Marconio from DF specializes in stories for sustainable development and preservation of languages that are about to extinguish.
Janet's stories, told with the pure beauty of words and metaphors, take listeners to the world of imagination, traditional wisdom and individual reflection.
Gala from Puebla is dedicated to promoting reading: telling stories and working with parents, teachers and children in order to inspire them to read more books.
A group of 15 professional storytellers from across Poland came every month to the workshops. There were also teachers willing to learn storytelling as a working tool with children, and children from 3 to 12 who came with their school or their parents.

POLISH STORIES IN MEXICO
To the amazement of everyone involved, after the exchanges storytellers began to cooperate together without any support and created a platform of narrators that now constantly creates bilateral exchanges.
While some people just complain, others just keep building and fighting to achieve things.
Wow, the cooperation is working beyond the limits of language and money.

IMPACT AND RESULTS
The project has been a success in all aspects for global education encouraging people to learn from each other and share it.
The interest of polish individuals in storytelling increased 3 times in a year.
Narration workshops were established in schools in both countries.
Several books were published in Poland with mexican traditional tales.
We learnt how to create spaces for storytelling in communities, how to cooperate with the institutions, how to bring storytelling into the education programs and how to use stories as a tool to face tough issues.
